The travel begins from the capital Sofia and leads throughout Bulgaria.The most interesting places of interest are the town-museums of Melnik,Nessebar, Koprivstitsa, Arbanassi and Tryavna; the three biggest Bulgarian monasteries and the unique Rozhen Monastery with old frescoes, the Thracian Tomb in Kazanluk, the Roman remains in Plovdiv, the Middle-Ages Strongholds in Veliko Turnovo and Pliska, the attractive Black Sea Coast with its Sea Capital Varna. With a view to get to know better the country of Orpheus and Spartacus you cross two mountains (Pirin, the Rhodopes), two big plains (the Thracian Lowland, the Danubian Plain) and the whole country from the East to the West, and from the South to the North.SIGHTSEEING TOUR THROUGH BULGARIA
Culture program - 15 days
Day 1:Arrival at Sofia airport. Free time. Overnight in Sofia at Sofia hotel (3 stars).
Day 2:Sightseeing of the Bulgarian Capital - National Museum and the old Church "St.Georgi" (4th century). Overnight at Sofia hotel.
Day 3:Sofia to Boyana Church and back (40 km/25 miles): Sightseeing of the Alexander-Nevski-Cathedral and the Boyana-Church (11th cent.). Overnight at Sofia hotel.
Day 4: Sofia to Sandanski (220 km/137 miles):
Sightseeing of the Rila-Monastery (the biggest in Bulgaria), Melnik (the smallest Bulgarian town) and the Rozhen-Monastery. Overnight at Sandanski hotel - 4 stars (Sandanski town).
Day 5:Sandanski to Plovdiv (350 km/217 miles):
Travel through Rodope-Mountains (visiting of Shiroka Luka village, Smolyan town and Pamporovo winter resort). Overnight at the Trimontium hotel (Plovdiv) - 3 stars.
Day 6:Sightseeing of Plovdiv (Old Town - some old houses and churches and the Roman Amphitheater). Overnight at Trimontium hotel.
Day 7:Plovdiv to Bachkovo and back (70 km/43 miles):
Travel to Bachkovo-Monastery, sightseeing of the monastery and the Assenova Stronghold. Overnight at Trimontium hotel.
Day 8:Plovdiv to Kazanluk (240 km/149 miles): Travel to Koprivshtiza town (architectural museum) and sightseeing ofthe town. Travel to Kazanluk town. Sightseeing of the Thracian Tomb. Overnight at Kazanluk hotel - 3 stars.
Day 9:Kazanluk to Veliko Turnovo (140 km/87 miles):
Travel to Veliko Turnovo (sightseeing on the way of the Russian Church in Shipka village, the National Monument on the Shipka-Pass and the Icon-Museum in Tryavna town). Overnight in Veliko Turnovo at Yantra hotel (3 stars).
Day 10:Sightseeing of the medieval Bulgarian Capital Veliko Turnovo (Tsarevets hill with the stronghold, some old churches and the Old Town). Overnight at Yantra hotel.
Day 11: Veliko Turnovo to Arbanassi and back (60 km/37 miles):
Travel to Arbanassi village and sightseeing of old houses and churches. Travel to Preobrazhenski Monastery. Overnight at Yantra hotel.
Day 12: Veliko Turnovo to Varna (260 km/162 miles):
Travel over Tombul-Mosque (Shoumen town), Pliska-Stronghold (Old Bulgarian Capital) and Pobiti kamani (natural sights) to Varna. Overnight at Cherno more hotel - 3 stars (Varna).
Day 13: Varna - Aladzha Monastery and back (40 km/25 miles):
Sightseeing of Varna (Roman Baths and Archelogical Museum). Travel to Aladzha-Scale-Monastery. Overnight at Cherno more hotel.
Day 14: Varna to Sofia (570 km/354 miles):
Travel to Nessebar town (sightseeing of museums, old churches and
houses) and to Sofia. Overnight at Sofia hotel.Day 15: Flight home.
